  • if you are currently having lithium therapy for depression as this type of medicine can interact with Betadine Gargle and Mouthwash to affect the function of your thyroid

  • on children of 6 years and under.


Consult a physician before using this medication if you are nursing a baby or pregnant.


Applying this medication to breast areas where the infant could come into touch with its mouth is not advised if you are nursing.

  • The effects of both povidone-iodine and hydrogen peroxide mouthwashes may be weakened if they are used together.
